New Sculpt... Greywolf the Dwarf

Hello all,

Well, I've been at it again. Here is my latest green: a dwarf for all seasons, really. Is he a woodsman, or farmer, even adventurer? Well, the way he's coming along it will be up to you!

So I guess he came about from spending some afternoons with Dave King (who has taught me a lot! Thanks, Dave), burying myself in a copy of 3rd Edition Warhammer and an incidental post from Greywolf on LAF: a link to Bo Hannson's Middle Earth soundtrack. So here's to you, wolf man!

Have a look at what I've done so far:

Greywolf in his infancy.

The money shot.

And here is a picture of him with his arms... and arms:

The idea is that his gear is interchangeable... or I may make variants of him. What do you lot think?

A sketch...

So, I thought of doing these guys this morning. Do you like them? Want to see them in the green?

Some more greens... Ancient Civilians and an Ettin pt. 2

As promised, some more pictures! Firstly is the two-headed ogre again. Then we have a female civilian dolly, and a male civilian dolly. And that's all I've got time for! :) Let me know what you think!

The first casualty of building models is...

... my left pointer finger.

So the piece of foam I was cutting had a snag and the blade jumped. Slived the top of my finger, although it didn't seem too bad at first. As I ran to the bathroom I had to stop the bloody thing from dripping on our new carpet. So a few rinses under that tap and I applied some pressure... after I let go a nauseating throb of pain hit me, so I put pressure on it again. The second time it happened I thought it might be a good idea to take a seat.

Only the next thing I knew I was picking my self off the floor, as if in a dream. Some dream!

Anyway, I'm quite alright now, it really is "just a scratch"... heck of a way to spend my Saturday.

So what's your worse hobby-related injury?

Good news is there are quite a few photos I've got to upload, which I'll do tonight!

More sculpts: Ancient Citizen dolly and Ettin (2-headed Ogre) WIP

Hi there!

Well, I've been working on a few more pieces lately. And having a lot of fun doing it. Mind you, there is still a fair bit of work to go on these but let me know if you think they're okay.

First up, this is a series of figures I'm putting together as dollies for some ancient citizenry. This guy might be found cheering on his favourite gladiator, or even lifting a heavy load (use your imaginations!!):

And a back view:

And next up is a particularly large and unpleasant bloke. An Ettin, or two-headed Ogre. I'll be taking a leaf from the "old school", after being enamoured with Dave King's work on his Bederken figures. I've since pulled out my old Citadel Orcs, Hobgoblins and a surprisingly intact copy of Warhammer Third Edition (where the artwork was more imaginative and diverse compared to today's GW publications, by far).

Well, looking forward to seeing these guys done and any comments or feedback you might have!
